One of the most frustrating parts about being overweight is the fact that there are actually people who will take time out of their presumably busy day to point and stare at you. It’s almost as if they assume that you don’t realize that you are overweight! The really shameful thing is that these same people would feel self-conscious if they were pointing and staring at almost any other group of people - but somehow, overweight people are fair game for this behavior. If you’re tired of being the target of this type of boorish behavior, here are a few tips on how you can lose weight quickly so that no one else will ever point and stare at you again.

Not so fast!

Before you get the wrong idea, when we say “lose weight quickly”, we’re not talking about dropping sixty pounds overnight. If you’re more than ten or twenty pounds overweight, you have to just accept that the extra weight did not get there overnight and will not be gone overnight either. Your basic goal should be to lose around two pounds each week. That means that if you are fifty pounds overweight, you can anticipate that it will take 25 weeks of dieting and exercise efforts to lose that weight. While there are methods that you can use to lose more than two pounds a week, those methods are really only effective for short term increases in weight loss. In the end, your best weight loss results will stem from adhering to a sensible and patient program of diet and exercise.

It starts with the food you eat

We all know this. Reduce the calories, increase the physical activities, and lose the weight. It’s such a simple formula, but at times it can be so difficult that we just give up on the process. And every time we give up, we end up putting on more weight than we lost during our diet. To break that cycle, you need a diet that focuses on making you feel full with less food rather than depriving you of food s that you like to eat. Whole grains, high protein lean meats, and nuts are all excellent choices for helping you to feel full with less food.

Feel the burn to lose the fat

If you’ve been overweight for awhile, chances are that the last thing you want to do is exercise. But guess what - you have to if you want to maximize your weight loss. That means that you need to set aside at least a half hour a day for aerobic exercise of some sort. Go for a long walk, ride a bike, take a swim - just get your body moving and your heart rate elevated. The exercise will help to boost your metabolism so that you can burn the fat faster.

Stay motivated and don’t lose heart. Always keep the goal firmly in sight, and before you know it you will have lost the weight and no one will ever point and stare at you again - except maybe to point out how great you look!

When it comes to losing weight, staying motivated is one of the hardest thing to do. You tend to want to give up after not seeing results early in your program. However, you should keep you eye on your goal. Whether it is to lose 10 pounds, 25 pounds or even 100 pounds. You see the only person that knows what you really want is you. Tell yourself you can do it and follow through with your program. Below are some tips to help you stay focus and lose weight.

Tip #1- Avoid going on the scale on a regular basis. For most people the is a bad habit. You see the scale can be very discouraging. If you constantly go on the scale and do not see a decrease in your weight you will feel like giving up because you may think that your program is not working. But note that the scale can be misleading. You see while you are losing weight, you are also building muscles. Therefore it will not show on the scale since the mass of your muscles will replace the weight loss. So to avoid feeling discouraged, you should avoid the scale.

Tip #2- Do not compare your body with others. Everyone has a different genetic make up. Some people can lose weight fast while some people will take months. Now if you are comparing yourself with others, you will only discourage yourself more and not focus on your real goal that you want to achieve.

Tip #3- Treat yourself after you cross small milestones. This will motivate you to continue. So break down your long term goals into smaller goals and once you achieve one of your goals, treat yourself to something nice.
