Get Rid of Those Love Handles
Posted by admin in Prescription Weight Loss on May 30th, 2009
Large love handles are the bane of many people’s lives. This is because it is a primary fat storage area. This can be really tough. I put this article together to give you some quick tips on losing love handles.
Avoiding Fats and Sugars:
Being a primary fat storage area any excess calories you have will likely end up as love handles.
Because of this you will need to keep an eye on your food consumption. Avoid foods that turn into sugar fast like potatoes and candy. You don’t need to completely change your diet, just keep an eye on the sugar and bad fats you eat.
Don’t forget the cardio:
Cardio exercises like Running or elliptical training are a great way to keep your excess calories being stored as fat. There’s no better way to stay energised than regular exercise.Nothing gets rid of stress better than some good exercise.
Lift those weights:
Lifting weights combined with cardio will boost your results even faster. Greater muscle mass = Increased fat burning = Reduced lover handles. You should lift weights at least 3 times a week. Start of slow and add more as you improve. Give it a couple of weeks and you will start seeing some physical improvements.
Target the area with exercise:
Unfortunately you cannot decide where your body burns fat from first but if your overall energy expenditure is greater than your calories consumed then you should see results. Exercises that increase your core strength are always a good thing. Exercises that focus on your hips like sit ups are a good way to build muscle in those areas.
Keep on, keeping on:
You need to be consistent. Having one decent workout session then giving up is not going to help you. You’re not going from overweight to super slim in a week or two. Understand that it will take a little while. Calling it quits is something you’ll feel like doing over and over again, just be aware of that feeling and remember your goals. Help yourself by stating your goals clearly e.g. By next month I will have lost at least 5 pounds.
A lot of us are cursed with love handles but if you want to lose them you have to understand that it will require some time and effort on your part but the end result will be more than worth it.
